Project of UniMak and Yoni Campus Sustainabilty
The idea of this project originated by middle of 2010 in the frame of the cooperation between Saint Lawrence Foundation and the Interdisciplinary Unit for Sustainable Economy of Carlo Cattaneo University in Castellanza (LIUC).
Its purpose was to develop a comprehensive Plan (Master Plan) for the Fatima Campus of UNIMAK, taking into account the potential expansions and to establish the best practices in the management of energy, water and wastes.
Three missions to Makeni of LIUC Professors, financed by Saint Lawrence, took place in July 2010 and May and December 2011, laying the foundations of the project. Later on, its scope extended to the second Campus of UNiMAK (Yoni Campus) and to Makeni City, whereas the experts of a new partner of UNIMAK, the San Pablo University – CEU of Madrid became involved.
Finally, by the beginning of 2013, the project was completely taken over by San Pablo University and its completion will be resumed after the end of the epidemic.
