In this project started by the end of 2012, the University of Makeni is engaged in a Joint Study involving an Italian-French-African Pole (University of Milan, CNR, the French INRA, UniMak, ESSA in Madagascar, Africa Rice Center in Benin).
Targets of the study, whose conclusions are expected in 2016, are the analysis, identification and tests of innovative and more sustainable Rice Production Systems taking into account, through advanced application of Information Technology, the specific conditions of the different locations. The person in charge of the Italian Scientific Team is a Professor of the Milan University,
This Study is very important also in view of the forthcoming EXPO 2015 in which all the partners will be actively involved.
The UniMak participation in the study is naturally suffering from the Ebola epidemic.
